Operating Principles
 

The following information describes the unique characteristics of TDAF and its purpose.

TDAF is a 501 (c) (3) charitable, education organization whose purpose is to raise money for scholarships for students in nutrition and dietetics. Contributions are tax deductible.

TDAF is a separate entity from the Texas Dietetic Association and is governed by separate bylaws, standing rules, and officers.

Donations to the TDAF should be sent directly to the TDAF Treasurer and not the Texas Dietetic Association.

The purpose of TDAF

  1. To receive monies for scholarships which provide financial support for undergraduate or graduate education to those involved in Nutrition and Dietetics studies.
  2. To exercise prudent financial management to ensure safety and growth of funds and to authorize administrative expense.
  3. To plan and conduct fundraising activities for the purpose of maintaining and expanding the funding base for scholarships
  4. To determine the number of scholarships, and to award these scholarships.
  5. To facilitate development of new scholarship.
